Sapa Trekking 3 days 2 nights – Overnight at Homestay

Day 1: Hanoi – Sapa Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van village

6.00: Support pick up from the hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter, transfer to a big bus and depart for Sapa Town.

9.30: Follow the highway to Lao Cai city and have the first rest stop.

11.00: Second rest stop at Lao Cai city before heading to Sapa.

13.00: Arrive at Sapa Town with colorful traditional costumes of H’mong, Dzao, and Tay ethnic people. And wait about 30 minutes at the bus station for the tour guide and driver to pick you up to the hotel.

Welcome beverage and itinerary overview.

Enjoy the lunch with local Vietnamese dishes.

14:30: Start hiking through Y Linh Ho then trek through the rice terraces and along Muong Hoa Stream to the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai to see the spectacular landscape of Hoang Lien Son Mountain. You approach Ta Van village where Giay Ethnic People inhabit in late afternoon.

The trekking distance is about 9km and it lasts for 3.5 hours.

Check in homestay and relax or discover the Ta Van Village by yourself to know the family of Dzay People.

Spend time enjoying the mountain life on Sunset. In the evening, you can join the local bar nearby with music and socialize with other tourists.

Day 2: Medium trek Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai village

8.00: Have breakfast prepared by the family and start a new day with a more interesting trek.

8.45: Keep walking to the rice paddies, where you have a nice photo session of the amazing surrounding landscapes. A trek through the bamboo forest and a stop to have a panorama view of Giang Ta Chai village – home of red Dzao People.

The trekking distance is about 4km and it lasts for 2 hours.

11.00: Trek through the Giang Ta Chai Bridge to the main road.

12:00: Back to the bungalow to shower and prepare for lunch

12.30 – 13.30: Have lunch.

Afternoon: You have free time to explore around by yourself.

Overnight at homestay.

Day 3: Cat Cat Village – Hanoi

7.30: Have breakfast.

8:30-8:45: A short drive to the gate of Cat Cat Village which is home of Black H’mong ethnic people and is located near the bottom of a deep valley at the foot of Fansipan Peak. Our local guide will show you the daily life activities of the locals, trek down to the valley bottom to the waterfall where the French built a Hydraulic Power Station, stop for photo with bridge and waterfall then you will walk uphill for bus to pick up to get back to Sapa in the afternoon.

11: 45 Have lunch. Relax by your own.

15:30: Get on the bus to back to Hanoi.

21:30: Arrive in Hanoi. End Sapa Trekking 3 days 2 nights Trip.

  • Old people should not attend the long trek (9km) due to its challenge and danger in case of rain
  • Handicapped people and children under 3 years old should not attend this tour
  • Homestay is totally different from hotel due to its basic and simple facilities

Thing To bring

  • Warm clothes, scarf, hat, cap because the weather in Sapa is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold in September, October, November, December, January, February and March
  • Due to the altitude of Sapa, it is sometimes foggy in December, January, February and March
  • Trekking shoes, sun glasses, sun cream, insect repellent are also necessary. You should take cash with you in Vietnam Dong because the banking system in Sapa sometimes doesn’t function well. US Dollar, Euro, Australia Dollar are accepted in Sapa
  • You should take medicine with you although there are some chemist’s shops in Sapa in case you get sick

  • 5- 8 Years old: 75% charged
  • Above 8 years old: 100% charged as adult
